Pera Wallet’s On-ramp
Pera has launched an onramp to the Algorand ecosystem, an alternative to its previous system for buying $ALGO through Moonpay, which comes with high fees. The other popular route for buying crypto assets domestically is Coinbase, which also has high fees.
Visiting the onramp website, you will notice that you are able to buy Algos but also the Algorand-linked versions of USDC and USDT, a crucial feature that’s been lacking in the Algorand community. Recently lofty.ai also introduced a $USDCa onramp. The number of centralized exchanges offering Algorand USDC is limited, and calls for an integrated solution have been a common request in the Algorand community. In fact, in the upper-right hand corner there is a button to integrate this functionality into Dapps.
The onramp accents a variety of payment methods from credit card to bank payments and even Apple Pay, and pulls exchange rates from multiple providers. Because you manually enter your wallet address, this project is accessible to all Algo wallet owners and not just Pera.
